Bring & Byte

8-10 May 2015

Bring & Byte brings together creative technologists, coders and developers with musicians, music promoters and organisations, to prototype ideas that point to a more buoyant future for independent live music: how we promote, experience and enjoy it.

Bring & Byte

8-10 May 2015

It’s a hack but with codesign, prototyping and sharing at its core. We’re made up of technical people alongside digitally curious artists, promoters, venue managers to work on shared ideas and concerns.

We’re taking over a converted chapel in the beautiful Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge to collaborate on shared ideas, hack, drink ale and eat delicious food!

Ideas & Making

Prototypes are important — they make ideas real! We want people to explore what we think are the most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities for the independent music sector.

Food (For Thought)

Ideas need calories! Our Bring & Byters will be filling their stomachs with delicious food freshly cooked by our local chef Martin Clarke and their heads with ideas and provocations.

Hack & Bootstrap!

Bring & Byte is a hack but with co-design, prototyping and sharing at its core. How can we bootstrap new ideas onto emerging services and social systems? How will people experience music in the future?

We asked a host of people who work in independent music what they thought were the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the sector. Bring & Byte sees us working out new ways to respond, with playful prototypes that could lead to real investment.
